FITNESS TRAINING

Adults: From 12 months of age here at Mascani we concentrate on the level of fitness and muscular development to take our dogs on to the level required for competition with others.

This is offered to you as a residential course, where your dog will be fitness trained daily and worked hard – to hand back. There will be a certain amount of ring work for your dog, but mainly the fitness of the animal is what people find the most difficult to do whilst leading a busy life, so we concentrate on that mostly. We would expect your dogs to be hip scored and elbow scored with scores back, and have a clean bill of physical health and either tattoo`d or microchipped. We will have your dog vet checked on their first day with us Innoculation certificate will be required to stay with the dog from arrival.

SHOW TRAINING

Puppies – 4 months onwards: It is recognised that puppies need to be of a certain excellent nature and out-going in all that they do if they are going to enter into competition, and a little gentle introduction to ring-craft without overdoing things - early on in the dogs life is always an asset when wanting to go into breed competition.

We offer sessions for yourself and your puppy to “bring on” your puppy for the show ring, and to assist you. with further visits to us if necessary to keep the dog active in mind and body for competition and an open invitation then to our ringcraft classes.

If the distance does not allow you to attend our classes, we will find a class as near to your location as possible that we can recommend.

A good economical and far reaching trotting gait is the essence of required natural movement in the GSD.... without fitness and good training, even if your dog has all these requirements it cannot use them to full advantage . If busy and you have that special dog waiting in the wings to become a star - why not book he or she into our care to be given the required standard of fitness in body and mind.
